a friend wants to sell me his Geovids and i am looking for some personal experience. these are the HD-Y model, not the HD-B model that just came out this month. any feedback, especially compared to "regular" binos( i currently use 8x32 Swaro EL's)?? THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!

I was writing for Precision Shooting Magazine the year they came out. I was lucky enough to take a set home from the SHOT Show for a long term demo.
A bit heavy compared to the new ones I handled at SCI last month, but very accurate and durable. I owned them for about ten or eleven years and sold them to a PH. He still has them, and they still work.

Retail then was $4400+.

I just bought a set last week from Cameraland. I've played with them a little but thats all. I have two friends that swear by them. We were on a Tur hunt in Russia and they were handy. We'll see.

I just ordered the 10x42 B through Cabelas. They are having a special with 10% back in bonus bucks for using their Visa. That is about $ 300.
