I was just looking for some help in getting our trophies back from Namibia. Has anyone cleared them on their own? Did you use a broker? I have some time to get this straightened out as they probably won't be ready until Jan. or Feb.

You may or may not know but I lived in Dillingham until recently for 22 years and we safaried in most of Southern Africa during that time.

I personally don't think anybody in Alaska is that good on African mounts. I always had my stuff cleared in Seattle and then shipped to Atcheson's Taxidermy in Butte, MT. They are African specialists and there work and customer service is second to none. They can make all the arrangements and you just put the whole thing in their very competent hands.

Our mounted heads should be shipped from Namibia next week. Their going to Anchorage. I'll keep you posted. Are you having them mounted in NAmibia?

Thanks for the heads up. I didn't know you were in Dillingham. Sure must have been in some darn good hunting and fishing! I have a taxidermist in Montana that I send all my stuff to. Chris Basham is his name, so he will get my stuff. It may take me some time to get it done as I have 5 bears getting rugged and a sheep mount to boot with him now! I may take a few years to get the shoulder mounts done. Must earn some more money for him! I didn't have the capes tanned in Namibia, but did have the flat skins tanned over there.
