Nice cat! Didn't know lion was a possibility in Ethiopia. Congratulations. On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died. Well done. An old lion on quota thats well past its breeding and chances would have died a long slow death from starvation and then to be finished by hyenas. Instead the value of the safari has gone into the local area and will fund continuing conservation work. I worked In Ethiopia in the late 1980’s with my father. We travelled the length of the Awash river and save for a few irrigated schemes it was miles and miles of bush and desert. My father has just returned from another trip down that same river. Its now miles and miles of irrigated agriculture with no room for wildlife. Hunting, with income derived from meat and sport hunting provides the economic incentive to prevent ongoing development of such agricultural development. Fairgame can add comments on what has been happening in Zambia to the agricultural developments in Luangwa, Mukushi and Kafui areas in the last 20 years by the Chinese. You wont find many lionsin those areas now.

Outstanding! And nice to see a pic without the face hidden. I realize many have too much to lose...but it is refreshing to see. 0351 USMC
