I've been reading this book which looks at the history and development of the illegal Trade in Rhino horn and ivory, along with the legal loop holes and flaws that are allowing this trade to grow at an alarming rate. Has anyone else read it, and what are the thoughts? I found the initial parts of the book difficult to follow as I am not up to speed with the history of the bush wars, but the more modern day narrative makes for interesting reading. K

I haven't read it, but will have to. Thanks for posting a link. The more you learn about the bush wars, the seedier your and my government looks. (I doubt much that really matters has changed since then.)

Yes...I have read it! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ J. Lane Easter, DVM A born Texan has instilled in his system a mind-set of no retreat or no surrender. I wish everyone the world over had the dominating spirit that motivates Texans.– Billy Clayton, Speaker of the Texas House No state commands such fierce pride and loyalty. Lesser mortals are pitied for their misfortune in not being born in Texas.— Queen Elizabeth II on her visit to Texas in May, 1991.

Not just in times of war. Recent events seem to suggest it applies to any Government at any time!

I also found the beginning a little overwhelming just from the sheer number of acronyms for groups and organizations referenced. Even so it is an interesting though very disheartening look at the depth of corruption involved.
