Hi, as far as I know they have opened hunting in egypt 2008 for barbary sheep and Nubian Ibex, but I haven't seen one report since then. Does anyone know If they started hunting there? Best Regards Dennis

I understand that the Egyptian government is holding this up hoping to get CITES export permits for sport hunted crocodiles out of Lake Nasser. The objective is to do a sheep/ibex/croc combo I think.

No that would be an interesting hunt! Lake Nasser has some very good fishing as well. Probably lots of travel involved??

Isn't lake Nasser a prime location for Nile Perch? I think a couple of freinds fished there years ago. K

I have fished lake nasser , it was awesoem , close to 100 fish in 4 days average 35 pounds largest was 85 - crystal clear water fishing with magnum rapalas from the bank - one set of guys opted to trawl all day , they only caught two or three a day and their biggest was 140 and they caught one in that range each day - it was some of the best i have ever seen if you like to fish "The greatest threat to our wildlife is the thought that someone else will save it” www.facebook.com/ivancartersafrica www.ivancarterwca.org www.ivancarter.com ivan@ivancarter.com

I would really like to try for Nile Perch in Lake Nasser some day. Almost had a trip lined up this year, but things didn't work out. I think this would be as much fun as an African Safari.
