I have written Boss and Co. they don't seem to want to reply.

I know most of the experts are here..sorry to post this in the Africa forum... But I need your help.

500 BPE ,underlever, back action hammer gun with safties, 75% plus engraving EXTRA-FINE rose and scroll. Bore 90%, overall 70%

Tang had a small crack and had to have it welded need to have a VERY small area retouched with engraving. Less the .25 on an inch.

I can't find any info on Boss and Co double rifles. I can find lots on the shotguns.

What is it worth?

Any Boss experts?

I would say the Boss is worth not more than $5K especially in light of the repair needed. I found essentially the same thing in an H&H (though no way to compare engraving) for $3500 about 4 years ago (or 3 years ago).

Meanwhile, H&H currently has the same exact rifle, restored and perfect for about $12K. They are way too high on that.
