Generally I have kind of given up on trying to get friends to go on a safari .. Most folks around here are under the impression that if they never leave the damn city that they will live forever ... For those who have been, however .... It is the best of times ... And my very best safari was going as a young man .. to South Africa in 1977 by myself. Some guy told my wife that she would never see me again ..Three years later we were listening to the lions roar .. in a flimsy blind in the bushveld ... I am so glad that there is an Africa for someone like myself. And for others like myself ...

There is also the reverse psychology approach (which I haven't tried yet). Tell your hunting friends that Africa is only for people with special qualities and abilities and that you are trying to restrict access before any old numbskull thinks he can hunt there. You are part of a very select club and even if it costs a lot less then most people think you are trying to keep the information confidential. I would bet that some would all of sudden become interested.
