Instead of petitioning Cabela's to stop selling UA garments, just stop buying ANYTHING from Cabela's!

Yeah, let's run an American company out of business, particularly one that supports the hunting and fishing industry 100%. That's a great idea.

If Cabela's business begins dropping off and customers let them know it is because of UA's actions, that will have more effect than any petition.

Case anyone hasn't paid any attention, hunters are not the only folks that buys Cabela's merchandise or Under Armors products.

Petitions normally amount to nothing more than a "Knee Jerk-Feel Good" response to something a certain segment of the population has taken exception to.

There are REALISTIC methods of getting a point across and there are petitions.

Besides, from experience, just because a person signs a petition that does not prevent them from going into the store being petitioned and buying stuff.

Even if every hunter in America signed the petition and stopped buying UA products, it will not make any difference, hikers/campers/fishermen, etc. etc. all sorts of folks that have never hunted in their life and never will, buy UA products and wear them.

By all means, knock your lights out with the petition, maybe it will work out, but I damn sure doubt it.

So, it is OKAY to run one company out of business, but not another?????????

If all the hunters in AMERICA actually joined together and really did boycott Cabela's, they would still stay in business.

I wouldn't sign the petition, even if it was being circulated Door To Door.

....after watching some of the hunting shows this weekend, it seems to me that spear hunting is becoming a popular way to hunt. I can't recall exactly, but it seems there were two or three spear hunts. Nothing but a casual observation as I don't intend to spend the time required to become proficient with a spear. However, if one dedicates themselves to learning the skill, I don't see why I shouldn't support it. I've traveled enough to realize that there are many different hunt methods and they very greatly even just across the US.

As far as social media...I don't participate in it and really couldn't care less what's up on Facebook and the like. In a perfect world hunters should be able to post whatever they like, of course, reality is far different. It's just, I hate the thought of hunters modifying their behavior because of antis for any reason.

I don't blame UA one bit in this case. The spear chunking hunter came across as an exhibitionist and idiot. I wouldn't want my name or company associated with this mullet either.

That being said, as larryshores says, it's legal, and he should have the right to, but it's not something I'd broadcast across the 'net personally.

As I read it the petition is for Cabelas and Bass Pro to stop selling UA correct?

I could not agree more.

How about this one:

"Skilled with a bow, and master of the outdoors.

Learn the unconventional methods of Chris Brackett.

Brace yourselves, 'cause the macho man's comin' to town.

Fear no evil.

Booyah."

I am not making this up.

Seen this very evening on the Outdoor Channel.
