Terry - Thanks for posting, that was an interesting read. If Zambian or one of the safari operators could take a minute to review, I'd be interested to know what if any of the suggestions have been implemented and the reaction to same. I also don't quite understand one section of the report, referenceing the negative perception from 79 hunters. The % listed when totalled well exceed 100%, so my guess is that the responders could select multiple items, though not specifically called out by the author. Nice read on a gray day.

HI Guys They do like a lot of verbosity those people in Africa, it make for good reading and looks impressive, but in reality and generalising a lot of what is said is hot air and dreaming. AS mentioned the document is dated and a lot of water has gone under the bridge since then with a season being cancelled by the former president Chiluba, various court case challenges to concession licence allocations, and other issues, and other changes as well. In reality, the rules seem to change not only in Zambia but in Africa (more often) than you and I have breakfasts, we live on a wing and a prayer in Africa and prepare ourselves for shocks and hassles as a daily life choice. Africa is not for those whom expect life to run by the book and to have all the loose ends to be neatly tied. Admade and other bodies involved are in the main well intentioned BUT the whole wildlife industry in Zambia relies in the main upon (outside donor help) from bodies within the EU and there are always problems in funding and how the money is actually appropriated once in the coffers. The CRB ( Community Resource Boards ) or whatever they are called are established regionally with the local chief involved and safari hunting profit money is meant to be paid to these boards whom then distribute it to the people in need, well there are continual hassles with the money not getting through and various other irregularities and inefficiencies. Our guests need to understand that in Africa there is (much corruption and some inept people) in places of authority whom can often compound the problem. Every season essentially is a new challenge and a life long battle with the authorities BUT having said that we always seem to get by and have a good time in the end Peter
