I have one Masailand Lion/Buffalo/Plainsgame hunt for this year for $30,000 including all government fees, (License, dip & Pack, government fees, etc.) This is almost $12,000 off the normal rate.

This area has 95% success on Lions during the past few years.

The dates for this hunt are anytime between October 2 and December 12. This area has permanent water, so seeing game will not be a problem. If you are concerned, wait until the December dates after the short rains have started.

This is an excellent Lion and Buffalo hunt in an excellent area.

What is the area called and who is the operator?

Luke Samaras, in his concessions bordering Tarangiri Park. His concession lie between Lolkisali and Lobo, which have received a good deal of publicity here.

Is this 1X1 for a full 21-day hunt? Will you post some of the pertinent trophy fees?

I've seen some of Luke's concession and it is a nice piece of property, but I'm unsure as to the year-round water source. Do you know what type of water is there and is it something the Masai are using?

Yes it is a 1x1 hunt. It is a 16-day hunt. You are paying all gov fees associated with a 21-day hunt, but you are only staying 16 Days.

Luke has put up dams to hold water. There are springs there that provide water as well. There is year round water here.

I spoke to Luke about this timeframe in detail today and in Reno as well. If the short rains have not come, like you experienced Forrest, an early October hunt there is limited water, but still there is water in his concessions. Game is concentrated around the water and the Lion hunting is pretty darn good.

The bottom line is that Luke was not at all concerned about the success on Lion or Buffalo.

Those that want to wait until December, that is fine as well. There will be plenty of animals in December.

Maybe Aleko can post the picture of the Buffalo he shot last year in December in Masailand (Not in this concession, he shot it in Lolkisali that borders this area to the North)

Both of Lukes concessions are available to hunt, you are not limited to one.

The trophy fees are very reasonable.

1 Lion $ 3400
Buffalo - 1st $ 890
Buffalo 2nd $ 1100
1 White bearded Wildebeest $ 495
1 Coke's Hartebeest $ 510
1 East African Impala $ 350
1 Warthog $ 450
1 Zebra $ 790
1 Gerenuk $ 1750
1 Lesser Kudu $ 1800
1 Eland $ 1150
1 Grant's Gazelle $ 310
1 Steinbuck $ 220
1 Dik Dik $ 230
1 Duiker $ 250
1 Hyena $ 270
