Helgaard, Anything's possible, what are the circumstances? If this is a claim being made to a prospective hunter, based on what I've heard, I'd be very suspicious. Regards, Bill

I haven't hunted with them in Mozambique (yet ), but with them / Peter Dafner in Tansania. Since their Moz. operations manager Leon Lamprecht is a good friend of Peter, I would not hesitate to also hunt with him.

What I know from Peter they have two different areas in Moz. - one (TCHUMA TCHATO, near Lake Cahora Bassa) is mainly used for hunting old elephant bulls - last year they had great success with one elephant of 92/85 pounds
and one of and 81 pounds each. I heard that they are already fully booked for the next year. I was told that
besides elephant there is not much other game in that area.

The other area, MAHIMBA, is used for buffalo and plains game hunting and is supposed to also be very good, but to answer your question, I think that you should concentrate on either elephant OR buffalo / plains game (but that will probably the case in any hunting area...)

For additional information, see their Home Page.

Best regards,

Erik

PS: By the way, I think that Moz. elephant ivory is not allowed to be imported into the US, but that might have changed after the latest CITES round, but better check

That works out at one DG animal every 2.6 days. Is it possible?, yes I guess it might be, but only if you hunted in a good area in a good country and had a BIG cheque book..........is it likely in Mozambique?.... I doubt it very much. Mozambican Buffalo are notoriously spooky.

Also, Erik is right. Mozambican Elephant trophies can't be imported in the US. This is due to the US F&WS refusal to issue import licences and the failure of Mozambique to apply for a downgrading of their Elephant status. for some reason, (and I'm blowed if I know why!) you can import the trophies into the UK & Europe.

What is the chance of getting two x (60 lbs+) Elephants and 6x Buffalo, in 21 days with them ?
