I had a 9.3x57 that I had rechambered into the 62mm case. It was a veritable pocket rocket! The recoil wasn't uncomfortable, though it certainly did recoil, and the little rifle was slick and easy to mount and carry. However, a friend on a very limited budget needed it worse than I did since I already had a .375 I will never part with. So I sold Dan the 9.3. Once he sees what it does on elk he will love it as much as the rest of us do. I've got a lovely ERMA action that I could have chambered in that caliber and super customized but since our friend Waterfowler has sold me his excellent 6.5x55 barrel, I will make up another all-weather light to go with the .375. The latter groups 300 gr. Nosler PT's into a thumbnail. We'll see how much tighter her little sister does in a couple of months. That will give me the Perfect American Pair to go with my Perfect African Pair. Maybe some day I will need a Perfect European Pair or at least a single. Then I will have an excellent excuse to build another 9.3x62. Yes, keep all of them!

Just have fun with it, I love my 9.3 , but like most said the 9.3 and 375 is so close that you won't realy see a diffirence, just injoy having another rifle and not using the money on something else

Cheers

Hi cewe
What about the recoil in 9,3x62 vs 375 ? does it kick like a 375 or much milder ? i want to build a light recoil light weight 9'3x62 as all round walking-stalking african rifle. i've tried both calibers at more than 30 years ago 9,3 in a short and light dumoulin and 375 in a heavy clasic stock and i remember felt not much difference.
regards
danny
