Kyler now dont you know according to most people on here a 460 or a WBY rifle either one is evil. You cant use that on DG. Wink

You're right Jarrod, but like in agebra two negatives can equal a positive.

Admittedly it wasn't the perfect DG rifle because a guy can run two shots out of the magazine pretty quickly. I started with 3 in the gun and the buffalo was down and out before I could get a third one in him.

Taken in RSA, April of 2003, hunting with Phillip du Plessis. Rifle: .416 rem. mag. Bullet: Barnes XLC 400 grain (handloads).
The lady in the photo is my lovely wife Doris. She goes with me for everything African and loves the place, but she will not kill anything. Having her along does put some pressure on me to make clean and quick kills. I wouldn't have it any other way.

I like it, don't have any plans to replace it or buy another rifle near the caliber. I had quick release scope mounts put on, that I like alot. the factory iron sights are very good, I enjoy shooting with open sights rather then scope.

My three, below. I hunted just prior to OZHunter in the Zambezi this past Oct and I agree that camo isn't needed. And who needs camo with a fixed pattern when you can have camo that changes as you sweat?

All of these were taken with a Marcel Thys DR in 458wm. All were taken in Chewore South with PH Richard Tabor of Roger Whittall Safaris.

Making its AR debut, my September 2005 Luangwa Valley, Zambia buffalo. It measures 44.5". Very wide for the area, but pretty thin on top. I'm not complaining though.

PH: Peter Chipman
Rifle: BRNO 602 375 H&H

My Brother-in-law Jason's, taken the following day with Sarge. Same gun, different buff with a much different look.

It was an awesome trip, and I've actually been working on a Hunt Report, belated as it may be. Stay tuned!

As soon as i can figure out how to download my picture you'll see my first buff that took three days to finish off with my 470 NE. And along the way we were treed by black rhino and the next day stalked again by rhino. I took my last shot on the buff started running with my ph toward the buff to finish him off and 10 feet in front of us out burst black rhino. if it hadn't been for the tracker yelling behind us we would have run right into this ornery fellow. the video is interesting lots of screaming and tree climbing. Adrenaline is a wonderful thing, i climbed like i was 15 again. vervet monkeys had nothing on me! It's amazing how your ass can cling to branches!

The above photo is of me and Dr. Don Heath from African Huntermagazine. This buff was killed in Mozambique in 2001 on a substitute hunt for one that was ruined by warvet in Zim. We were pressed for time and this kill happened after many blown stalks and at the end of a long day that turned into a very long night for me and the trackers and game scout. He is a young bull, but I cherish the memories of that hunt and could not be prouder of that trophy if he had been 50 inches. One shot with my 375 H&H and 300 grain Failsafe and he was down and dead within a very few yards. I had only known Don a few days at that point and I don't know what he thought of me, but I had total confidence in him as my PH. Having known him a number of years now and hunted with him a bit both in Zim and America I can see my trust was horribly misplaced and I should have been scared shitless. Big Grin
