While visiting some websites of some African outfitters recently, I've noticed that more of them are starting to charge trophy fees according to the size of the trophy taken. For instance, one outfitter charges $1000.00 for a Kudu Bull, but if it is over 55" then it jumps to $2000.00. Personally, I think that stinks, but I'm curious to find out how the rest of you feel about it.
Don't like it a bit. Goes with gamefarming and ranking animals by what color their medal is. When I hear somebody say they killed a Gold Medal whatever, I want to scream! Whew I feel better now.
If you need to keep score, you really ought to take up golf.

That's South Africa for you. The PH purchases the game at auction and the better specimens fetch a higher price. That higher price is passed on to you.
If you want real hunting and a fair shake, head to a country with less of a track record of ripoffs, in my opinion.

I am with you on this issue 100%,it stinks and makes my /our sport and activity sour. That being said,it really never matters what I think these days.I am told everything is market driven, and thinking logically ,I have to agree. A precious commodity fetches a higher price,as long as someone is willing to pay more. I dont see that hunting develops into more of a free activity, land being one of the most precious resources considering the ever increasing pressure of human overpopulation. A clever business man ,will therefore maximise his return and deplore the trend if politically correct
