Lois and I were pleased that Ganyana stopped by midway during his annual and very busy show and trip scheduling whirl wind tour.

He was gracious with Lois, and freely shared his loding, flora, fauna, and ecology knowledge. I offered up the little that I know, but still came away from the table as the biggest "new knowledge" "winner."

He dissapeared into Walt 465's SUV with a large box of QuickColt and other hemostatic agents, a case of Ceftriaxone (a life saving antibiotic) and a decent supply of emergency pain meds.

I expect that the PH community will be queued up outside his home back home for the big distribution ceremony.

Ganyana gave me the idea of a looooong distance baboon shoot (no, no it Washington, DC or the tribal areas of Packistan). Thank you Ganyana.

Finally, ganyana gave me an idea to donate examples of my new commercial ammunition line to the top PH, and the top rookie PH of the year for Namibia, Botswana, RSA, Zim, Tanz and Zambia. Determination of winners will be blinded from me (i.e. I will have no say so in the matter, and will have no foreknowledge).

Winners can pick up their ammunition at 209 SCI, or designate a representative. Also, a client can take it over if your client shoot the appropriate caliber, etc., etc.

Thanks for reading this.

Sounds like a good way to get your name and product out there. Best of luck to you.

lawndart, I know Zim has such an award, but how ill you determan these winners in Namibia? What calibers are you doing? I mostly reload, but some of my rifles (loners mostly) run out of ammo towards the end of the season, then I have to buy factory ammo.

I can do most any caliber, especialy with a bit of lead time.

I guess by coin flip, or drawing out of a hat at SCI Smiler.

As you want 2 PH's per country, why not just give Vaughn Fulton and myself samples for Namibia? Cool

Its my nominations and I will stick to it!

Leslie Gulch, LLC is the overall company name, but we will have different brands to make it easier to identify the purpose of a given line.

Right now I'm deep into research and development. As health improves, I'll hit the road with samples; then start shipping based on feedback from Walter.

So, Herr Stumpfe, what do you think of "Gemsbock Langwaffen Patrone de GSR ('er Namibia)"?

jdollar,

I'm looking at identifying those few cartridges that aren't available with pure copper bullets, and making some cases for the central California zone. Not my original idea at all, but it seems to make sense.

lawndart, sounds great! What about 8x68S and 9.3x64, loaded with 220gr and 320 (or at least 300gr) respectively?

Those are on the list as well. Loaded with Swift A-Frame bullets.

If you could gather a list of gun stores, I would appreciate it. When the export license comes through I can contact them. Each will be loaded to approved C.I.P. standards.

I can send some samples with clients this next summer. Let me know; same with Vaughn.

Also a listing of what those cartridges cost over there would help me figure viability of the venture.

If anyone uses the 9.3x64 on elephant of buffalo I would work up a solid loading that matches the soft.

For such a small place Windhoek has a lot of gunshops! I will send you a address list in about 3 weeks. (Leaving on a hunt on Tuesday, will compile when I get back.)

RWS ammo sells for about N$450-500/ box of 20 in Windhoek, and we all know what quality bullets that is... (about US$70/ box, 8x68S ammo only, ahve'nt bought 9.3 ammo in years..)

I used to load my 8x68 with 220gr Swifts. Had a hiccup or 2, but that is to be expected with any bullet eventually. It is impossible to get 8mm Swifts over here.
I have had a lot of clienbts use my 9.3x64 on buffalo and elephant, also hippo. So far, I have used mostly 286gr and 300gr Rhino softs on the buff, and 286gr Woodleighs on ele and hippo.

I believe we can reach a mutually advantagous arrangement.

What bullet would people prefer in the 6.5x57. Nosler 125 grain Partition, or a 140 grain bullet, Partition or otherwise?

I'll send over some 9.3x64 Samples with 286 Grain Nosler Partition and 300 grain Swifts.

In the future perhaps clients can buy the ammunition here and take it over there. Soon you will have a large pile of fresh brass to play with.

8x68S samples with Swift and Partitions as well.

Talk to you in three weeks
