Thanks again to everyone! I have been humbled by all the well wishes from around the world, feels good to know people care.

I know we can have disagreements, arguments, even fights sometimes - but at the end of the day we share a "brotherhood" that transcends all. I'm grateful to be a part of that, and I hope to remain so for a long time.

Regards,

If we are a "brotherhood", I would hate see a picture of yo' mama! What an ugly family portrait....

Get well faster please.

Aaron,

What do they think triggered it?

Bodybuilder diet?

Bad genetics? I lost a kid that worked for me in the Navy that was at the peak of fitness because his ticker was defective and nobody knew.

Continuing to do better guys - thanks a lot for asking. Mean that sincerely.

Certainly a body building diet would never be a cause. They eat very clean, low fat, high protein / low carb, lots of fruits, vegetables, etc, etc.

My main issue it appears is bad family history. Both sides of family have had lots of heart related issues at fairly early ages - so it looks like I am going to have to be extra diligent. Which I have been so far - been very strict on food/diet, starting exercising again within about 10 days, etc. On meds now of course as well, but hopefully all will be ok for a long time to come?

I am just happy that you are doing well. I have hemochromatosis, and have to give blood about once a month to ensure I don't carry extra iron.

I speculate that my paternal grandfather died very young of the same disease. Men in my family are known to be incredibly short lived.

Anyway Good Health and God Speed,

Cheers,

Seth

I had a heart attack back in 2000. Two blocked arteries and had three stints put in also. The wierd thing was that I had a "basic/annual" physical exam a couple of weeks before and everything looked fine.
Fast forward to September 2009, First African Safari.
April 2015 Second African Safari, October 2015 started archery season for Whitetail here in Michigan.
Still going strong.
Some of us are lucky to get a "warning shot over the bow" with this type of health warning. This is a strong indicator that stress testing is very wise.
Good Luck in your recovery, you will be back on the hunt before you know it (but listen to your Doctor!).

That is it in a nutshell, Aaron. Aside from the obvious other issues (you don't have) overweight, smoking, etc. heredity is the culprit and for males it's the mother's side. You take care! j

Aaron - glad to hear you are doing well and wish you all the best in the future. I have stints, no heart attack, but has been a real wake up call. I actually am doing great these last 8 years since the episode by being more aware and doing what my Doc advises. Wondering if you will be at SCI/Vegas? Take care.

Plenty of hunting seasons ahead of you Aaron so hang in there.
Maybe I should get myself checked one of these years just in case.
Anyway, Good luck out there

Good to hear your on the mend. My step father had a heart attack at a fairly early age but with an improved diet & excercise he lived well into his eighties.

Aaron,

This is nothing more than speed bump for a motivated individual like yourself. Heal up, listen to your doctors, go kick some butt!

I am glad to hear that you are doing alright.

Guys, thanks to you all again - really appreciate the kind words.

Just gone done guiding my first hunt since the Oct. 1st incident - man was it awesome! Firstly, we shot a 186 5/8" whitetail in eastern Colorado on day two of the hunt. But more importantly, I actually stopped for a minute as I stood over top of this awesome buck - to soak it in. Something I have not done for a long, long time! I love spot and stalking big whitetails, few things are more exciting.

I head out again on Thursday for another whitetail client, but today is the first meeting with my cardiologist - so hopefully all goes well.

Great work, Aaron. Post photos of the client allows. That's a great white tail deer. I've seen some wild non-typical mulies this year. I'd love to see a white tail that size.
