Anyone know the legality of a US citizen flying over to Africa with a gun stock? Any US customs issues in doing that?

It's just a piece of wood. I don't think that it would be regulated by any country, but I'll admit that I have no experience in this area. Of course, it would have to be carried in your checked baggage as it would be prohibited as a carry-on due to its potential function as a club.

I toook one in my gun case to deliver to a PH in South Africa in 2003 without any problems, but that was then.

I carry my "Walking Stick" aboard planes and have had no problems to date.
