For the skeptics that are still convinced that the Cecil fiasco and resulting anti trophy hunting agenda will not have a negative impact on their hunting opportunities here in the states, the following verbiage (dated Saturday 18th June 2016) from Lying Aid's website is for your benefit my friends:

...

Uniting to save endangered wildlife......

This week we traveled to Jacksonville,Florida to meet with the wonderful Adam Sugalski, founder of One Protest Inc and his lovely wife Wendy, to discuss with them how LionAid and One Protest Inc can collaborate to save some of the world's endangered wildlife.

We first met Adam through social media when he lent his considerable talent to supporting our Lion March at the end of April 2016. One Protest joined us as one of the six charities collaborating to urge the UK Government to ban the importation of lion trophies.

We are therefore delighted to be in Jacksonville now to support Adam and Wendy in their protest against the proposed Florida Black bear hunt, a decision on which is due to be taken next week by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC).

It has never been more important for like minded organizations to come together to share their considerable talents and show a united front, when faced with the implacable attitudes of those in power who choose not to see the impact of poorly formulated policies that lead to the destruction of our precious wildlife

A big brand name in the conservation of wildlife (with usually a big overhead structure to maintain) is not necessarily the preferred driving force to win the day for wildlife. What matters more is the synergy that can be created when two responsive, adaptable and scientifically guided organizations work together to produce a fighting force greater than the sum of both parts.

Well like it or not bears have been on the anti's agenda for some time. It is laughable they call them endangered but to the general public everything is if they're told it is.

You don't have to look far to see what the anti''s have accomplished, low grizzly bear permit quotas across Canada and closed spring black bear hunts across the western US. Unless we as hunters start pushing back TOGETHER it's very doubtful there going to be much hunting in the future anywhere in the world. As has been shown in Africa they don't need to stop a hunt, just limit access to it or block game or trophy from returning from it.

Sadly Andrew, just as the US thinks it is its duty to police wildlife management globally, the EU also has this tendency. For decades various anti groups from the EU and specifically the UK have been lobbying and stirring up shit with regards to bear hunting in Canada and the US. They push constantly for the closure of bear hunting and the anti's have made significant gains over the years.

LionAid is a new player to be sure, but this is nothing new. They can see the power in partnering with other groups and they tend to focus on HOT bear hunting issues like the Florida black bear hunt, which is extremely controversial in Florida itself. The EU anti's have also been instrumental in the constant push against grizzly hunting in western Canada. In recent times they have narrowed their field of view to the coastal grizzly hunting areas because they could use the curtailing of logging and saving of old growth forests as a "spotted owl" type lance at the heart of coastal grizzly hunting. They could also, in partnership with local anti groups, get the First Nations on board...........

These folks know what they are doing. They know how to pick targets.

Any charismatic mega-fauna is a prime target for these groups. Lions, bears, wolves. They know how to create the fires and then we run around in little circles trying to put the flames out.
