Why don't you read the post in the spirit of which it was meant.....and also get Don to show you the Youtube he put on the Political Forum and the comments that followed.

Someone must have been posting about 45/70s and caused sensitivity.

I was really proud of the Champion, I forgot his name, who completely lost control of and contact with the rifle, but had the presents of mind to grab it verticley in the air and save it from a nasty fall. He deserved a commendation.

I am in the process of re-encoding the old champions video clips into better quality format than originally posted.

I will see if I can do a few in the next day or two and add them here for your enjoyment.

Ann vs. Don

Don't write her off.
We know how she can brain elephants with a .375.
Ann will do it "for all women."

A contest is called for:
Three shots with scoring based on points for:
1. Not dropping the rifle.
2. Elapsed time on stopwatch.
3. Accuracy on a 25-yard target.

Even if both competitors hang on with each shot,
elapsed time and accuracy will surely be a tie breaker. thumb

This other "she" won 3 of 3 against this other "he."

ESPN.com: Billie Jean won for all women
Billie Jean King won six Wimbledon singles championships and four U.S. Open ... But what is remembered most about her is that she humbled Bobby Riggs. ...

As much as I would like to blame it on Walter, it wasn't his fault.

I am afraid it was all mine, and I appologize for that.

I have corrected them, so you will get all the new ones now.

We were having some friends in here for iftar - that is breakfast - at sun down!? I was just finishing uploading the files to our server, when my daughter came running down with her friends, who wanted to shoot.

And being a lazy individual by nature - I know, Walter does not agree with me on this. In fact, he says he gets dizzy just watching me running around.

What I do is copy one link and then rename them. Today, I managed to add names to the files; One Two Three etc, but forgot to change the numbers of each link.

That has all been corrected now.

Thank you for bringing it to my attention.

LionHunter,
You better download another media player.
All 13 are there and working fine now.
I have them on the work 'puter and home 'puter too.
If I am ever bored and need a quick laugh ...

Saeed,
These people that fan their trigger hands after a shot ... is it because their knuckles got whacked, or is it because their entire hand is getting pins and needles from the brachial nerve compression?

I think the folks who drop the rifle are Democrat Party members or liberals.

The folks who hold onto the rifle and make it look easy are conservatives.

It has something to do with their "grasp" of reality, and not wanting to be poor, pitiful victims.
Dealing with recoil is mostly "attitude."Wink

I want to have go with the .577! This looks like good fun! How many ft./lbs of recoil are actually produced?

Ann,
OK, I owe you, it was worth it. What gin do you prefer?
Will you model that steel bra for me as we toast your coming victory?

31/2Makesmelaugh,

A-Square manual top velocity load:
750-grain solid
26" barrel of 1:12" twist
170 grains of IMR-4350
2480 fps
50,100 CUP (I am guessing that is well over 60,000 PSI) Eeker
Max allowable average pressure:
53,000 CUP = 65,000 Piezo PSI
according to governing body: "The A-Square Co., Inc."

Assume rifle weight of 11 pounds (realistic), then:

Recoil energy = 203.9 ft.lbs.
Recoil velocity = 34.5 fps

That is a ballpark.
Saeed's load specifics and rifle weight need to be specified to calculate the champion recoil more accurately.

I'll bet Obama would drop the rifle if he tried it.

I made the mistake of trying to be helpful to Ann by looking up some steel bras.

I never realized that they have the same shape as bullets!?

They have pointed ones, hollow point ones - these ones double as "soft points" too!

The above one is the "round nose" model.
I thought this model would be best because it can "deflect" the steel recoil pad.

And they have them in all sorts of shapes and sizes.

Bloody amazing what one can learn on the AR African Hunting Forum!

Walter, being himself again, suggested we also include a steel chastity belt.

Apparently he wants to add more weight to Ann; "so she can enjoy more of the recoil by not moving back"

He also said "and don't forget to use that long drop tube and vibrator for the powder. So you can put more power!"

I said "would you shoot the trial load?"
Walter "NO!"

Ann, if you want to do anything to Walter, please let me know. I will be more than happy to help you.

He usually is an intolerable character, but he gets a lot worse a few days before he goes on safari!

Along with the steel butt plate (please make sure it is a skeleton steel butt plate) I have a few suggestions re the 577. Please shorten barrel length to 22 inches (more handy in the bush!)re place stock with an ultra lightweight kevlar model, sand off the "577" and replace with 585 powderpuff or something. See if walter will shoot your new custom lightweight "bush rifle"! Oh, I woould turn down the barrel contour also to give it a more svelte profile! Winkemron

Ron,

If my memory is working properly, you might be one of the best T Rex shooters. I think you had some benchrest time with Mitch and shooting groups.

Mitch use to email pictures of his groups....unreal.....and as I remember you were shooting the rifle in the same general area of grouping.

Note: For members not familiar with earlier days of AR, Mitch Carter was the king of recoil and accuracy. There was nothing ever like him and I suspect there will never be another Mitch.

Mike,
A "ringer" who can shoot should visit Saeed,
fire three shots offhand into a good group,
give the T. rex a pat, and lay it down,
then tip his baseball cap containing a reservoir of fake blood.
Strategically placed tubing will squirt jets of "blood" down onto his eyebrows and ears.

The ringer will then exclaim "I can't see!" and fall onto the floor, bleeding from the eyes and ears.
He then bites the capsule of theatrical blood in his mouth and begins sputterring a red froth from his mouth, in agonal respiration.

When Herr Doctor Walter and Saeed rush to the fallen shooter's aid,
he jumps up and says "BOO!"

Then Saaed gets to laugh at himself. Big Grin

Ron,

Have not heard "ringer" for a long time. In Australia "He's a ring in" gets more use.

But all means the same Big Grin

Actually, I think last time I heard "ringer" was in a Charles Bronson movie where he plays a street fighter fighting on bets. I think it was called Hardtimes and also The Street Fighter.

I just found a clip of Walter giving instructions of how to shoot the 577 T.Rex.

I will try convert it and upload it tomorrow.

He asked the shooter if he had shot anything before. The answer was that he had shot an AK47. Walter then says the AK 47 has a 36 round magazine, and that is precisely the same power as he would get shooting one round of te 577 T.Rex, and so on and so on.

Hi Saeed, you should maybe try making the rifle look less intimidating by making it lighter, then more people will probably be tricked into shooting it! I am sure you could shave some steel off the stock and barrel or put an ultra-light synthetic stock on it perhaps. If you really did not like somebody, you could always take off the recoil pad and put a scope on it Big Grin

Uh, Saeed, uh, hate to be a pest, but Champion # 16 only plays about halfway through and quits.
It quits right after the shooter flaps his right arm like a chicken just before shooting...
Limbering up for that Ruger No.1 in 460 Wby?

I have concluded that most of the trigger hand flapping after the 577 T. rex shot is due to brachial plexus trauma.

They are trying to shake their numb trigger hands back to life.
I base this on the fact that I saw no bloody nor dislocated fingers, only bloody noses and broken spectacles.

Yep, "He did real good."
No bloody nose nor broken spectacles.
He just made a spectacle of himself.
I really like the way he flapped his elbow like a chicken wing while holding the rifle to his right shoulder (right handed shooter),
settling the rifle in before the shot:

Bwawk-bwawk-bwawk ... KABOOOM ... stumble-flail-grin ...
and a whole flock of crowing-cocka-doodle-doos from all the bystanders, hens and roosters alike. animal
