Ladies and Gentlemen. Sorry I have not posted info on my hunt. The very next day after getting off the plane I had to help teach a Sniper Rifle school for the TTPOA [Texas Tactical Police Officers Association]. It was a 3 day event where they shot at 300, 500, and 600 yards on day one, shot on our "mountain" for rural operatioons at @330, @ 400 and 535 yards, at our apartment complex for urban ops. They shot through glass form apt. to apt. We also set up several det cordwaterbag charges to blow out the glass in the room you are shooting from. On day 3 they shot a Barrett Light Fifty, then we shot 308 rifles out of a helocopter. I was working 12 to 14 hour days. Then after the last day of the school I went out to Texas International Motor Speedway [where I am now] for the NASCAR Race. I will be here till Monday. However something bit me on the nose on my last day in ZIM, but did not get infected until 3 days ago. I had to go to the medical facilities and I am taking antibiotics and pain pills. I have been out of it for the last 3 days. All my notes are at home, so as soon as I get back and can concentrate I will post my report. I hope it will be worth the wait. The internet service here at the track is on again off again, but I will hang out here when I can. DOUBLE RIFLE SHOOTERS SOCIETY

Tony: I know I cheated and talked to you on the phone, but I'm still looking forward to reading your report with all the details! Get yourself well, first, though! JudgeG ... just counting time 'til I am again finding balm in Gilead chilled out somewhere in the Selous.

At least I am in a great spot here at the track. I am in a RV in the infield on the wall in the middle of turn 3 and 4. DOUBLE RIFLE SHOOTERS SOCIETY

Tony Be careful with bites. A female acquaintance of mine was bitten on the forehead in Tanzania. Later a week later in Malawi it swelled up to a big boil. It turned out to be a spider laid eggs into forehead and dozens of little spiders were growing in the boil and feeding off her. If her skull had not been under the skin she would have been it real trouble. The hospital in Lilongwe fixed her up, but a week or two later it grew again as there were some left. Finally fixed in Harare. Just to make your day. This is my favourite horror story to tell people getting bitten in Africa. Retirement is sounding tough, eh?

Tony everyone is waiting with bated breath, for the details. Mike ( North Fork bullets) sent me an E-mail asking if you had been turned into Elphant toe jam. He's waiting for your report before going ahead with the makeing of the 470NE solids! If you get a chance send him an E-mail. I can wait for the info, but it's hard! Glad you got back OK, but take care of that bite! I do not have any doubts about that. Enjoy the races and post when you can. Or immediately after. ------------------------------- Some Pictures from Namibia Some Pictures from Zimbabwe An Elephant Story
