Hello!

Got me a new Storm gun case. Looks great!
However I was thinking about a putting some kind of mark on it, making it easier to ID as my case if it would get lost on the way or stolen.

Is this something you guys do?

What do you do?

Or am I just silly?

Regards!

I agree with Butch. Best to have a business card or two inside when you travel. I have seen a couple with a bright color spot spray painted on also.

Besides the usual name tags (like from Kathi), I used a black permanent marker to print my name and address on the edge of the case, by the handles, I have a name tag inside, and painted large bright orange triangles on both sides, all four corners.

I want my case to stand out, both so I can easily find it, and so I can easily spot it if it's not where it's suposed to be.

I just got back from my first safari. My hunting partner and I had twin Pelican cases. Mine had Kathi's bright tags on it and his had his name stenciled in yellow. Both methods worked well. We could tell at a glance which case belonged to whom.

I put a bit of that 3m reflective tape on mine. Then when it is dark and I am in the plane I can flash the luggage carts with my surefire to see if my gun case is being loaded. You can see that stuff from a mile away. It helps chasing down "lost" luggage when you know what airport didn't load them.

I have used the brass nameplates off old dog collars --- we never put the dog's name on just my last name, first initial, address and cell phone # --- I pull these off old dog collars and epoxy or pop rivet them to my travel cases right under the handle. I have also gone to a trophy shop and had them engrave name plates (bright red) that I epoxy to my cases.

Start with an orange Pelican case.

My last name in 2 inch black vinyl letters on both sides.

My business card taped on it with clear packing tape.

Gracey orange luggage tag with the itinerary enclosed.

And most importantly, I make sure the ticket agent puts the tag onto the case.

Ain't nothing stealthy about it! Big Grin
