OldSarge, I agree with most of your post. However, if you try to take ANY semi auto-rifle or handgun into SA, IT WILL BE HELD AT THE SAPS OFFICE IN THE AIRPORT UNTIL YOUR DEPARTURE. Period. NO exceptions. This is clearly stated in the new regs. If you take a revolver, put a scope on it and hope for the best.

I wonder what are the chances of actually getting it back when you leave?
