For a custom M98 Jeffrey bolt action in .375 H&H? The rifle is in excellent condition, no rust super nice wood with a leupold VXIII 1-5x20. This is an awesome rifle, but it's pretty pricey. It would really take a lot of soul-searching for me to buy it. Just curious what you guys think a rifle of this description would go for. Give me some input and I'll tell you what the seller is asking for it. Billy Bob

If it were a "name" gunsmith up to $10K. Assuming it's from an unknow but the work is really nice then $3500 to $5000. I charge 10% for appraisals..pick the one you like and send the fee to your favorite charity. DB Bill aka Bill George

if it is a W.J. Jeffrey, I would expect it to be between $4500-6500

Marc wins the prize. (slap on the back and an attaboy) The gun is on consignment at a shop here in Fort Worth. It is a W.J. Jeffrey and it is an absolute beauty. Asking price - $6500 Billy Bob

If it's a Jeffery (not Jeffrey), in the condition you describe, $8,000 wouldn't buy it if it weren't for that scope and the attendant drill holes. Still, at $6,500, it would be worth a good hard look! Mike Wilderness is my cathedral, and hunting is my prayer.
