G'day all, our SCI show Down Under is on this weekend and had a list of donated hunts come through several days. One of the donations is from Watts Trophy Hunting of SA with a five day tuskless elephant cow hunt. Sent an e-mail enquiry to the outfitter but waiying for a reply, so wondering if anyone on AR could help out with some info on the company, or maybe someone that has hunted with them.

Hey mate - you should ask the organisers if anyone from AU has hunted with them.

I just checked on Hunting Report and nothing directly there about them ....

Does not give any great detail in the Auction list, their web site does not really say either, though list hunting in Zim amongst other countries.

Charl Watts, the owner, was partners with Abie Steyn of Steyn/caracal safaris.

I hunted in SA with them.

Although I shot some good animals and had a reasonable time; they were a disorganised mess. They were leasing farms year to year, always changing location as they were late always paying the landowner bills.

Abie as a SA PH hunted Zim on auction hunts; there is an old post here about getting kicked out of an area.

Charl is a nice guy.....but you can do better with a reputable Zim operation.

JMHO.

It may be completely legit, but the above line would be enough to scare me away.
