I'm taking two rifles this fall to RSA for my elephant hunt, 404 J primary, 458 Win Mag as backup in case Mr Murphy breaks the 404, etc. I've worked up some Northfork 450 gr loads for their SS and FPS bullets with AA2230 that are in 2,185 fps range each. I assume this is more than enough? SS would be for any buffalo or plainsgame. Or should I back them down to 2,150 fps or so? Yep - I looked at your data. Aligns almost exactly with the grains vs fps that I'm getting. I could always go higher, but my bone spurs in my neck don't like the bench work at the range; even with a recoil sled and 25 lbs of lead shot on it!
