Some of the best novel i have read was by a norwegian autho called Kjelled Halbing, who passed away 2 years ago. He loved guns and hunting, he was most famous for his books series " Morgan Kane" about a scout, buffalo hunter, Indian fighter, pistolero, Texas Ranger, U.S Marshal, Pinkerton Special Agent, Rough Rider, Mercenary.

He had other characters aswell. and my favourite a Kenyan PH whos after the photo safaries has taken over has to go up to Masai Mara and deal with a problem elephant whos is bohering the photosafies. (poor people )

Then he gets a call to go to Zambia, sorry Northern Rhodesia and help out in the cropping of the several elephant heard. And of course his fathers old friend is there , noe smoking like a chimney and drinking heavily in the nights. And a PETA chick who argues that cant they be moved instead of being shot , etc,etc.

All end s when a flock ravages a village and kills akid, they just have to follow the heard and stop the leader, a big female tuskless elephant . Its a exiting novel, perhaps this has been one of the reasons that i wnated to become PH, but thats not feaseable now.

The morgan kane series was translated to many languages, Tondo is a novel, not a whole book, it was part of Kjell Hallbing on hunting, a summary of all his hunting related stories brought in one book.

Morgan Kane is a character that has many lives and even more women on his mind after all. One of his best books is called " Where the eagles dies" , two little words that describes the book, Little Bighorn.

It so ill feel the blackpowder, but my favourite is " Comanche" and The Buffalo War, where he meets In Comanche Billy dixon at the defense of Adobe Walls.

He uses wery much weapons from a Colt Pteerson which he starts with to a Krag in 30-40, aand he has custom Colt revlovers aswell.

Luis Lamour is good and a couple of years ago i picked up "Shalaco" at the DVD store, and thats good.


We had a great author , explorer, discoverer,archealogist, and Lawyer, Helge Ingstad, He lived with the Wild Rein Eaters a tribe of Indiands in Canada, which he found out was nothing more than a group of the Apaches that had emigrated Northwards.

The most interresting book he wrote besides those that was about tghe finding og Norwegian items and house remains in Nova Scotia, that we was there 500 years bbefore Coulumbus. Was On search of the the lost Tribe.

It started as a expidition to see if there was anyone of the apaches that didnt surrender with Geronimo left in the mountains of sierra madre, they found camps, and through the binoucular he thought that saw something standing upreist and that was dressed deer hide, suddenly it turned back and disappeared into the woods. He was sure it was a scout, but his apache guides said it coud be a deer.

he wrote 150 books and novels. the 83 books about Kane, and it was planned to make some of them into movies over in USA, but that never became reality. there was one made here in Norway a few years ago, but that a cult movie. or turkey for those who think that more like it.

Kjell halbings alias /psevdonym was several but Louis Masterson is the one he`s most known for if you see Morgan Kane written by Masterson, its him. He wrote some books about Clay allison and Many others. he`s one of the best authorsa and all the Ibsen crap we had to read in School, jezzzzzz, thats so boring that watching a stone s morre funnier. i have a winchester 94 in 44-40 , one of the cheyenne commemoratives, which when the Kane feeling comes over me i use that one a bit ,and iam fine.
