I do my part also. Because people are asking, that's a 96 Lb yellowfin tuna caught near Alijos Rocks off the coast of Baja California. The picture was taken on the docks in San Diego.

PETA, HSUS, Farm Sanctuary, and other animal rights organizations in the UK and Europe have one ultimate goal, and that is to legislate the entire planet to vegetarianism.

Their agenda is to pick one battle at a time, as they slowly inch their way to that goal. They have been behind the ban on foie gras production in California and the EU, and are behind the recent prohibition of fox hunting in GB.

I expect they will succeed in having shooting and fishing banned in the UK within a decade or so.

This thread sounds to me like a bunch of guys griping about the weather (rather than somebody doing something about it). I like to think that at least some (hopefully most) of these PETA people are foolish merely out of ignorance and inexperience. Most of them seem to be urban youngish woman and sissy boys who have no real outdoor/rural or true nature experience, but get their information from Disney movies and the like. I've taken two city gals (not at the same time!) out to the range and taught them to shoot. Now instead of being Kerry-oid, they both purchased their own firearms. About 7 years ago I started going out with a PETA gal, with considerable initial hesitation. I made no secret of my pursuits, and then took her hiking and later fishing and eventually on Alaskan hunts. She learned how to skin bear, pack caribou quarters, and we just got back from a Montana mule hunt (she got a bigger one than me). I feel like I've done my part to deal with PETA. This approach may not be suitable for all, but support (and bucks) to organizations that counter these goofs will hope to hold back the barbarians.

Nice catch, Saeed! Maybe next time you'll let Walter use the 700! Wouldn't the PETA PITA's love that!

BTW, PITA = Pain In The A**!
