I am thinking about booking a trip to Zim's lowvelt, south of Bulaweyo. I was wondering if any of you who have been there can give me your impression of what it is like. Any comments would be appreciated!!

I have hunted West Nicholson and Bubye River in the lowveldt for plains game and Leopard. Was very succesful and of all the areas in Zim it is probably my favorite section. I found it to be easy hunting country. Not too rugged to comfortably walk a day in. Actually hunted there 3 years in a row. In order of preference by me is Lowveldt,Turk Mine,Doma,Midlands,Matetsi. I hunted the Hammond and Mkwasine Blocks of the Save Conservancy last month and the Lemco in 1994. Both areas had large amounts of plainsgame and good populations of dangerous game, particularly leopard and buffalo. Elephant and lion are good in some areas but quotas are generally low. You can't go wrong with either of these areas though, in my opinion. Book with reputable names and you will have a great hunt. Please pm me for suggestions if you would like. Good Hunting. I believe I've hunted the loveld 4 times and enjoyed all. My personnal choice would be the save conservatory. Lemco can be outstanding or not, I just don't agree with the politics of the outfit hunting it.

Wolfgar Contact Graham Hingston at http://www.hhksafaris.com Tell him what type of hunt you want. He can be trusted. I hunted with HHK or 21 days in June 2004. It was my first African Safari. Graham, Lou Hallamore, and Ivan Carter who set up my hunt at the Dallas Safari Show, were truthfull in every way about all aspects of my hunt, area, animal expectations etc. I would not be afraid to make one e-mail message to Graham, telling him what type of hunt I wanted, and recieving one reply from him telling me what day to arrive, and what day to depart. I would know the hunt is "on". DOUBLE RIFLE SHOOTERS SOCIETY
