WATCH: South African safari hunting scrutinised in documentary

Updated Oct. 18, 2022, 12:02 p.m. | By Mornings With Mack

A documentary picking apart the hunting tourism industry in South Africa reveals shocking information.

A documentary titled, ‘Paying to Kill: The Macabre Safari Hunting Industry’, created by ENDEVR has been doing the rounds on social media.

The documentary tackles the tourism hunting industry and reveals how the lives of wild animals are boiled down to a monetary value.

According to the documentary, people can pay over R260,000 to shoot a lion or over R1.4-million to shoot a rhino.

People were very upset learning about the industry and commented: “Canned lion hunting is despicable, Sad to be South African because of this.”

Thanks, Kathi. It's the good, the bad and the ugly. But that is the reality of hunting everywhere. Bottom line is that it must pay to stay and it does unless we find a hybrid way to hunt and to conserve.

The same kind of hit piece they always do. Get the people who dont know better and other hunters to fight over it. It is the low hanging fruit they can go after with not much trouble.

it will be sad to see hunters fighting it out again over the same stuff.
