Any of you have good loads for the 300 gr North Fork cup point for the 375 H&H? I have heard the 300 gr bullets like H4350. Any loads? This is also on the reloading page but thought more might see it here. Thanks.

If you start with H4350, you won't have to worry about getting too much under the NF.

I use it with them, but it requires a drop-tube to get enough in. A faster burning powder would probably suit them better in the 375, as they are longer than conv bullets and provide less powder capacity.

RL 15 has worked for me also.

D,

I like IMR 4064 for the 375, start with 67gr or so. I have not used NF cup points but have had extreemly good luck with Woodleagh, Swift, Trophy Bonded, Horniday...

Did they find your rifle (Thelma?) or have you replaced it?

Best regards;
Brett

I use the same loads for the cup points as I do for Woodleighs, Northfork softs or any other bullet, I could actually increase the loads by a grain or two, but why? no need, they kill like the hammer of Thor anyway...Awesome bullet, I have used them in 375, 416, 404 and .470 on Buffalo and plainsgame. Best bullet I have ever used on Buffalo..

Brett, Lo and Behold! They did find it and it was delivered to Roger Ferrell today as a matter of fact. Only took them 10 days to deliver a 2nd day package. Sure had me sweating though. After he fixes it I will be driving to his house before I take a chance with big brown at this point. Thanks for thinking of me and my rifle.

Ray so what powder are you stuffing in those cases anyway?

I haven't used the Scot version, but of the IMR, H, and AA offerings, I've gotten a tad better accuracy with the latter (out of the .375 H&H Magnum). Regardless, you sure won't blow up the rifle using as much as you can get into the case.

Ray, I am loading some cup point solids for Susan to take to Zambia this year. What powder do you use for the 286 gr. CPS?

I used both 74 grs. of RL-15 and 70 grs of IMR-4064 with the cup points and flat nose solids....

Start 10% below and work up is usually good advise.

lb404 My cup points are 300 gr bullets. Do I have a different batch of bullets than yours and Ray's?
Oh and by the way,Brett it is "Thumper" named after the rabbit in the movie Bambi. It is my standard rabbit rifle. Thanks D

Ray what are you trying to do to me? Get me killed? I ain't got no Susan. Good thing my wife doesn 't check this website much or there might be a killing that I am more involved in than I want to be. Do you think our booking agent has a surprise for us we don't know about? I hate to see what the trophy fee is on that! Big Grin
