Just for general information.

I just received a call from the Comfort Inn asking if I was going to block rooms for AR. I told them I was no longer taking care of the Sat night party at the Inn and didn't know who was org. the party or even if there was going to be one. Since no block was taken their rates are their normal rates and at this point no one has reserved the meeting room for Sat. night.

There are some of us staying at the Inn but that is it.

If someone wants to org a party for Sat nite I would suggest they get started.

Die Ou Jagter,That is too bad because I was hoping to attend to one of the meets you organized.I am thinking of going to SCI this year but don`t know which is better DSC or SCI.I know that SCI costs an arm and a leg.

Doesn't really matter "which" show you attend as they are both great shows. Check out "ALL" the costs involved, not just entry fees and the like. I live in New Mexico, about the same distance from each show, actually a little closer to DSC and SCI Reno will cost me several hundred dollars less than DSC when looking at the bottom line.

Cheaper airfare and hotels and food costs in Reno, no on sight tranportation fees in Reno, airport and show shuttles, higher daily fees in Reno. For me, higher airfare, shuttle or taxi required from airport and back, lots higher hotel and food rates. Transportation to and from show and other areas a must in Dallas unless you are right next door at the high rent places. Lower daily rates.

Like I said, check it out yourself and go for which ever one floats your boat. I am headed for Canada next week for a deer hunt, hope you enjoy your trip down here as much as I will heading up your way.

DOJ - Hope someone steps up to continue the ritual you started as it seems like it was a definite "good time". Sorry I haven't had a chance to attend. Stuck again on schedule timeframe this year for DSC, so back to Reno. Maybe we can meet up another place another time?

Ed,

Just to let you know I was the trigger for the phone call when I booked my room this morning. I asked for the AR rate. She did tell me no one had blocked for AR this year.
