What do you mean by their own laws? Is this a dangerous place for me to hunt, or is it just bad hunting and bad people??

I do not know the area at all, but looking at the price, you will be hunting 2 people of one licence,

Not the best idea since this is not to legal,

The outfitter will have one of the hunters as an observer with the goverment fees and one as a hunter and then let you both hunt off one licence,

Seems to be practiced alot in Tanzania but i do know that if anything went wrong on the Safari you could loose your trophies,

I could be totally wrong here but just check that out before you take the plunge,

I believe the split licensing was approved by Tanzania last year.

I think you'll find every hunter still has to have his/her own licence but the outfitter can split his quota (for example) each hunter has only one buff per licence....... which although rarely done, has never been forbidden. This ensures the GD don't get screwed on their fees.

As Fujo says, not on observer fees. (In other words)

I think that the gentleman asking the question means that you hunt 2x1 - by other means 2 hunters and one guide and each hunter has one licence to kill a buff.

Correct ?

The more I know, the less I wonder !

I don't understand your question but 2x1 hunting has always been legal in Tz as long as each hunter has his/her own licence but it's never been legal for a hunter & an observer to split the hunting between them.

I've been retired for a couple of years so could be out of touch a little but I'll be bloody amazed if they ever change the law to allow an observer paying observer Govt fees to hunt anything.

sth;

I have hunted K5 on 2 occasions (21 day safaris) just south of K4,and never had a problem connecting with buffalo. That being said, I know there was one particular outfitter hunting in the next concession that my outfitter considered unscrupulous because he made lots of promises before his clients got to camp and then changed prices and services once the client was in camp.

I would research the outfitter thoroughly!!!!

Best regards, D. Nelson

In other words.

Avoid him!

There are so many good and honest PH hunting in Tanzania, give them your business and let the crooks learn a lesson.

We have always hunted Tanzania 2x1, but, it is two HUNTERS with one professional hunter.

Each has a hunting license, and his own quota.

I would recommend hunting 2 on 1 only with family and very close friends.

I understand that the operator of that block might have been kicked out by SCI.

If that is the case, I suggest you give him a very wide berth.

What i pulled up from the Tanzania wildlife division as of October 2012 they show R1 & K4 blocks.

And i know that this could have changed.

I only added the K4 because that was the hunting block in question.
