Here is a good article that explains how to get into the business if you are a land owner in Africa or leasor.

Becareful your broker or outfitter isn't sending you to one of these places...

Carmelo - You claim to be hunting Buff in RSA in just a few more weeks. You have also stated that you are not hunting on park concession land. This translates to only one truth - you are hunting on a private game farm.

Maybe you need to be following your own advice. Sounds like you got taken on a canned hunt. Remember to remove the name tag and flea collar when you take pictures with your Buff - assuming that you kill a Buff.

Zero IQ you have no clue about where I am hunting.
I have not divulged enough relevant information for you to come to any conclusion about anything (purposefully so)

Why don't you just put me on ignore like the rest of your fellow SCOUTS and stop bugging people who have different opinions than yourself.

I just got my own 45-70 Marlin, but have shot friends rifles and with a 460 grain Jaeco bullet penetrated through 2.5 feet of tree trunk with ease.

That round will skewer any freaking cape buf with no prob what do ever.

Going to Namibia in May.

As of yet I have never been there.

But am booked and ready to go.

By the way, take a guess what caliber I am bringing with me?

C

02/25/04 01:07 AM

I will be bringing the 45-70 for larger game and my .338 for smaller plains animals.

You think I am gonna have these clowns ruin a hunt that is costing me upwards of 12 grand? They would be sending emails to the outfitter saying all kinds of shit.

02/26/04 08:54 AM

I might learn about it after my 45-70 stomps some D/G in Namibia but I am not the expert as of yet.

I am sure there are quite a few PH's here that can teach us Americans about getting robbed their hard earned cash in Africa though.

Walker,

That is my intention when I go to Namibia in May however pardon me for wanted to make conversation in the meantime on a forum that is about African hunting.

Zero,

I am curious to know why you wouldn't hunt Buff in Namibia?

Is it a technical reason? Logistical? Outfitters? The regions itself?

I will tell everyone about my hunt/outfitter upon my return.

Hey Art,

With all do respect I am not hunting Buff in Namibia, am hunt P/G in Namibia, I will be hunting buff in S/A.

I will be glad to post all the pics I take when I return. Only a month and a half a way. Plus the 10 days I am there.

So you have only had your very own 45-70 for less than three months. You are leaving on the second week in May, hunting plains game in Namibia and buff in RSA all within 10 days and you are paying 12 grand for your hunt and you are not hunting on park concession land.

That is IF any of your statements are true. But who really knows when your story changes weekly...

Carmelo:

I would think that Zero drift is simply pointing out to you some of the realities of life on the ground in RSA. I hope that you did some research and study and did not book a "buff hunt" in RSA. If you did, you will have been hoisted by your own petard. Frankly, the question is coming to my mind - Exactly how do you plan to shoot nyati with a 45-70?

ALF my friend,

Pay no attention to him.

Anyone who believes anything Garreth Pattersen is placed in the "ignore list" as far as I am concerned.

Don't worry guys, he has come to the conclusion most recently there is no need to 'individually recognize' our posts so I guess he will be posting to himself only from now on

Saeed I think since he wants his own site anyway, you might create a new forum here where Car-mortie can post to himself in private, free from the fear of having to continually recognize moronic posts.

He may then find the answers he needs finally

Karl.

You can rest or your case your ass anywhere you like.

I didn't imply that all ranchers are honest or dishonest. I shared an article. I don't support the author but just becuase the guy may be ant-hunter doesn't mean he can't have a valid point.

About balls? C'mon dude like a lot of other fairies you would be trying to lick mine not kick mine. That is apparant. Lose the threats, they are corny.

Who in their right mind would take the advice of a guy like Zero IQ.

His posts seem to advocate the protection of disreputable outfitters. He lies consistently, he appears on the take from someone, and I would bet money he recieves kickbacks for steering honest hunters to shady brokers.

I could be wrong, but I doubt it.
