I received a suspicious solicitation to sell the mailing list for the DSC convention. I have verified it is a scam.

Beware!

It took Cory about 2 seconds to respond when I sent it to him. A cease and desist letter is on its way.

Well, they somehow know who to target.

The scammers are alive and well this year. We are receiving many phone calls a day from some scammers. Our Phone service blocks some of these call, however many still make it through the cracks.

It has gotten to the point that if we do not know the phone number or name we do not answer the phone. Messages can be left and we return call as necessary.

Last year I also was on the contact list, I am not sure if they have tried to contact me this year or not using the above.

I hear you. We can't answer the phone at home. Every call is BS. I have robokiller on my cell to screen the calls.

I also get quite a few malicious texts or emails. However, I respond to them (But NEVER click on any links provided, Ever).

I reply with. F*ck off, phisher! Only I don’t put an asterisk where I did here. And then I block their number or email address.

I have learned that if you reply or answer they then know that it is a good phone number or e mail address. So it is best to not answer or return phone call that do not leave a message or a message trying to sell you something or reply to bogus e mails. To reply only verify that the phone number or e mail address is good and then it is sold to other parties to call or send you an e mail.

Happens every year. At least a dozen or more emails offering to sell the mailing list. It started already this year 2-3 emails. Also for SCI.

Good point! But, I get so much satisfaction from telling them to get F’ed before I block them. I should probably follow your advice though.

Yep. That goes for all personal or business calls for me. And usually, most of them that don't identify themselves subsequently get blocked.

I get offered attendees list and other list on each trade show I do. It's an automatic delete for me. I hustle hard to "bring" my own clients to DSC and other types of trade shows. I dont need no stinking list.
