Had the privilege to hunt with John in the Erongo Mountains in 2018. Last talked to him in 2020 at Dallas SCI. He said he had sold his off the grid home and property and moved to Omaruru - I believe. RIP John

Hi Jerry.

I hear ya man. I personally know 9 that have died. another close, performance boating icon, friend of mine is fighting for his life right now. He's vented in Havasu. Once you're vented, it don't look good.

The Havasu hospital is one small step above being in the hosptial in Bangui, CAR.

This shit, while I'll agree is overblown, kills many people. It ain't a joke.

I had a client since 1985. Mega-rich. Accord to him, it was nothing but the flu. The vaccine was an attempt to control us.

He is now dead form COVID after 3 weeks in the hospital.

Right on the money. Having had it, as well as the shots, I'd recommend the shots.

That's the problem with this virus. Some, like me, had almost zero issues. Conversely, for others, its a death sentence.

My wife and I are pretty convinced our son would not survive it.

Tragic news. Sad thing is that Covid is treatable now provided you get it early. In the UK the vaccines do seem to be lowering the number that get seriously ill and require hospital treatment. But plenty are still catching it.

And even if not fatal, for many the long term effects can be very bad.

What is crazy Larry is the guy was the same age as my mom. She got the vaccine 4.5 months before he checked into the hospital to die a painful death.

4.5 months he had the option of a safe effective free vaccine and he intentionally choose to ignore it. Can’t say the same for ph in Namibia.

Tennessee is reporting that 97% of people hospitalized with COVID and 98% of those dying from it have one thing in common.

They aren't vaccinated.

I do not know if that is true (not saying it isn't), but with those statistics its mind boggling that people would not get vaccinated.

One thing that I had not considered (should have) is that even if you get it and you are vaccinated, your symptoms will likely be less severe. I wish that so many people would not make these vaccines political. Get vaccinated, for you and those around you.

The numbers are slightly higher than that here in Idaho.

Sadly the vax is political. Even the local paper editorial board, while complaining that the vax has been politicized, proceeded to further the political division by matching up vaccination rates by county and Biden’s performance in the 2020 election. A really dumb ass move to blame trump voters. Not sure anyone has ever been motivated to do something by being blamed for bad things, but blame they do. There is a lot more coercion than convincing going on and that doesn’t help.

Great point Baxter. Idiot politicians (from both sides) love to point fingers and blame for their own personal agendas. It's really pathetic how some are handling this.

I am no fan of Biden but I do hope he makes the right decisions (along with others) to help solve this crisis.

I know 4 high-risk people who contracted COVID. (And many more who were not high-risk.)

1) 45 year old who is morbidly obese (~450 lbs). Hospitalized for a week, never ventilated, fine now with no long-term compilations.

2 & 3) MIL and FIL. Both life-long heavy smokers and both in late 70s. FIL has end-stage COPD with emphysema and lives on O2. Both felt bad for a week and a half. Never hospitalized. Treated with meds at home.

4) 83 year old uncle. He has an electrical heart dysthymia that recurs. He was rebuilding water-gaps last summer in 100° heat and noticed his heart-rate was high. Called his cardiologist and went in. His dysthymia was acting up. He needed an in-hospital procedure. He tested (twice) pre-procedurally and was positive (twice). He went back home and rebuilt water-gaps in 100° heat for 2 more weeks, retested negative, and had his procedure.

Just agreeing it is highly variable on the severity and there must be some more selective biological risk-factors that are unknown yet…likely at the cellular level.

Yes, I and mine are vaccinated for months now.

The friend in the Havasu Hospital is being removed from life support tomorrow (Sunday)

He did not get vaccinated. I will miss him and the performance boat world will miss his vast knowledge.
