On my prior two hunts I wore Nike running shoes and they served me well. This past year I was at an expo at low country outfitters in Bluffton SC where I met the rep for Russell Moccasins. Needless to say he measured me up. Today they arrived. One pair of "joe's PH " boots. They seem to fit fine. Now all I have to do is make sure that they are well broken in by July 19.

I have 4 pair of Russells--obviously I like them. I convincd my wife to get a pair and they just haven't been as comfortable for her--we dropped them off last month and they will make a new pair for her...the owner stated they will keep working on them until they meet her expectations.

That's the kind of company that I like dealing with......

I have had 4 pair of Russells and I keep sending them back because none of them fit. Size 9.5 is huge on me and feels like I am wearing 2 aircraft carriers for shoes. But size 9 is way too small. And every pair of Russells is different, regardless of the size designation. Keep in mind that I have ordered the off the shelf model, not the custom made model of the PH boot. However, after 4 pairs I have given up.

I just received my first pair of custom made Mbogo. When they say measure your feet with the sox you will be wearing with them they are right. They are not too big or too small. I thought the arch was a bit low and tried a pair of schollds supports and could hardly get the boots on. I have only worn them a few days but they feel very good and don't appear to have to be broken in.

Terry I see you are from Greensburg - do you vacation on Hilton Head Island to be in Bluffton at that time of the year?

I am hoping that I have the money and opportunity to get to SCI next year and have them measure and make me some. My right foot must be a bit larger in thickness than the left because shoes always feel snug over the bridge of the foot, I end up wearing most of my shoes just snug enough to stay on and not rub my heel. I saw them this year but they had lines of people waiting and it was last day.

My family and I have been going to Hilton Head for about 33 years now. I try to spend about 8 weeks there spread across the year.
I found a good place to deer hunt down there. Paradise Valley Hunting Club in Ehrhardt Sc a couple of hours NW of Hilton Head. It's reasonably priced, has good food and a plenty of Deer. No garantee of a wall hanger, but you should leave with venison.

Terry, we had a unit at Courtside for for about 20 yrs.. When the kids were young we spent the month of June on the island, Haven't been down for a few years. It was great in the late 70' and 80's but now like visiting the city.

We've had a house in harbortown for 30 years. My youngest son just finished College and has relocated there. Of course I had to ask him if starting his career in Hilton Head means that he will retire to Pa.
