You need to give more info. Is money no object? Are you on a budget?
I have heard that there are some older phones that can been purchased for a very fair price.
You might also want to look at satellite messaging systems such as the SPOT. I am lucky enough to have one and my family is impressed.

Hunting in Africa is an adventure. The number of variables involved preclude the possibility of a perfect hunt. Some problems will arise. How you decide to handle them will determine how much you enjoy your hunt.
Just tell yourself, "it's all part of the adventure." Remember, if Robert Ruark had gotten upset every time problems with Harry Selby's flat bed truck delayed the safari, Horn of the Hunter would have read like an indictment of Selby. But Ruark rolled with the punches, poured some gin, and enjoyed the adventure.
Contact Andy Cool at Explorer Satellite in Florida, he can fix you up with a rental or sell you one. We have used his equipment a couple of times in Zim (including a BGAN unit that allows internet access as well as phone) with very good results.
Take a look at the new Iridium Extreme. Much more compact than the older phones plus it can do messaging like the spot. My friend just got one and now I have to upgrade my older Iridium.
Pending on what you want to do, Delorme is producing an Iridium based two-way texting unit called the inReach. It works like a Spot also. I will be taking one to CAR in January. We used Iridium when we went. Andy Cool at Explorer Sat.
