A friend of mine shot this impala ram "while hunting" out of tree stand this morning...

Have a look at the face of this animal.

What do you think caused the crooked face and have you seen this in other animals before?

Never seen one in the wild but I have seen plenty of them mounted!

Keep it going boys dancing Big Grin

Seriously... I would think some kind of injury or deformity would cause that.

One of my sons shot a whitetail like that. The skull was deformed, likely by trauma early in development. Oddly enough, this one was killed while in a tree stand as well. We may be pointing those game cameras too low. Eeker

I've seen some deer like that, young ones. My impression was they were hit by an automobile, or rather, they ran into one trying to beat it across the road. I've seen deer do that- run straight into and bounce off the side of a car.

Not sure what could do such in your impala. Did it look like it ever have an injury? Boil the skull clean.

Hmmmm. . . Maybe he wounded it first and finished him off with a shovel?
