Tomorrow I leave for a months hunting in Botswana, then 2 or 3 days at home before going onto Tanzania. I'm not sure when I'll be back but not for some considerable time. It's gonna be a very mixed season with multiples of 4 of the Big 5 and new and old clients and friends from all over the world....... I guess that's partly because of the weak dollar.

Before I go, I'd like to wish everyone a happy, safe and successful hunting season and I'll even see a few of you in the bush. Wink

Cheers for now

Until we have a toddy in the Selous in September... whatever days we are in camp at the same time? Just don't drink up all the scotch before I get there.

Have a good trip and good hunting. No doubt, when you get back, you'll inundate us with pics and tales of your derring-do.

Wouldn't the rest of us like to be going to Africa and be able to say we won't return "for a considerable time?" Damn! Where do I sign up?

Ah, first you have to give up all desire to die rich and then become a masochist! Wink

I think I get home around the end on November, but I'm not very sure as my better half who runs all the dates writes the year planners in latin or something just to keep me and the other guys guessing. Smiler

I think the "better halves" of most of us would have something to say about too many extended stays; though I have to admit, I'm married to a remarkably understanding woman (thank goodness).

As for giving up the desire to die rich, though I may have the desire, the reality of it seems to not be too likely. As such, I'll start working on my masochism and see you when I've developed that to a sufficient level.

Steve: Enjoy your season, although it sounds more like an extended holiday! Drink deeply of all of the sights, sounds, smells, feelings and moods of Mother Africa.

Thanks. will do. I'm starting to write a proper diary this year to help with the writing I've started to do...... it'll make things a lot easier for me!

Don't know about an extended holiday though.... by the end of the season, I'll be completely buggered! Wink - That said, I'll have a lot of fun and a lot of laughs as well......

Steve,

Have a great season. If you get a chance, please update us on your Botswana bull elephant hunts. Sounds very interesting. Photos would be great!

Steve,

Have a great season and find that 80 pounder in Bots that we could't. I had my 68th birthday in Bots in April so I hope you have a great one there also. My main excitement that day was the Egyptian cobra that came into camp and flared at evrybody before he slid off we carried flashlights snd zipped up our tents after that.

Best of luck

Fred
