As can be seen by the photo, shot placement is critical on African Game. This trophy fell where he stood to the Gamo premium pellet. -Cal. 5.5 mm (.22 in) - Weight 1.4g (22gr) - Muzzle velocity: 220 m/s - Kinetic energy: 24 Joules - Penetration paraffin: 37 mm - Expansion paraffin: 8 mm Unfortunatley the bullet was never recovered, but judging from the exit wound had good expansion. Sorry - Just can't wait for the new hunting season

This is clearly a case of too much gun! You would have been better off with a .177 O2 Express! Mike Wilderness is my cathedral, and hunting is my prayer.

Very good shot placement on that dangerous game. I hope you still approached it with caution ready to put another bullet in it if it moved. Good Hunting,

When they charge you will that load have enough to penetrate the skull and into the brain ??

Mete, After close analysis and prior to postmortem it was discovered penetration seems to be good. The exit wound can be clearly seen in the photo just below the ear. There was full penetration through the skull and narrowly missing the brain. I plan to do a shoulder mount as I am rapidly running out of space in my trophy room

Judging by the permanent wound cavity, looks like it was a hybrid CRAPFAD action ... (Controlled Round and Push Feed Action Design) ...
