Have been talking to Graham a lot about hunting with HHK in Aug/Sept for Buff, hippo and plainsgame. he wants me to hunt buff and plainsgame in Chirisa and then move to Sijarira/Chete for the hippo.

Any opinions on these areas and trophy quality in them? Plainsgame/lesser species I am interested in are kudu, Eland, Zebra, impala, bushbuck, bushpig, heyena...

Any opinions or advice would be greatly appreciated. I always get great info here and do really thank everyone for sharing.

Good Hunting,

Charisa is a lovely area. I was officer comanding next door in Sengwa for a while. The buff and plainsgame are certainly there. Chete/Sij are much dryer with generally sparse buffalo and plainsgame populations. good quality generally though and some very good bushbuck in the riverine along the Zambezi - oh and obviously plenty of hippo in the zambezi.

Ganyana:

I hunted in Cherisa in 1993 and was glad to read your comment that it was still good for buff and plains game. Your comment about it being a lovely area was right on. I have pictures that I took with a Leica Mini of Chirisa and people to this day are surprised that, yes, that, indeed is Africa. (Westerners in the US are amazed at my pictures of what we call over here "mesas" and scenes of countryside that look like a New England meadow also surprise people)
