There's a guy here in Vegas that sells blanks to all of the nation's finest gunmakers. In fact blanks for the custom guns I've had built I've gotten from him. PM me if you want his information. He'll email pictures of blanks to you and let you choose without even being in his shop. Here's my .375 with Bastogne Walnut I got from him.

Lot's of place sell some pretty high dollar chunks of wood, but the late gunmakers, Larry Brace as well as Bob West said they got most of their stock blanks from "Preslik's". Some of the stocks these two turned out would knock your socks off! I do remember reading an article from Preslik, in an old Rifle magazine that stated his exibition grades were all about $450 at that time, while you could spend 4 times that for the same blank elswhere. He got folks calling him and wanting to buy a bragging blank and wanted to spend $1,500 for one. He told them he would be happy to sell them a blank for that much, but that same piece would be just $450 if they simply asked for a great blank. He sounded like an older gentleman that hangs on to the older ways of integrity. The article was a while back, but I would give him a call first. You may find a great deal.
