I love to read field ballistic reports. 7mm RemMags don�t work but 7x57s and .270s do. A 450gr bullet from a.458 Lott is a killer, but the same bullet at the same velocity from a .458 WinMag is not. I suppose the laws of physics must take into account the shoulder angle of the cartridge or the size of the flash hole or something like that...

Based on my experience with Grand Slams, 338s and 7 mags I can't disagree with any of that.

JJ,

How would you describe the tissue damage of that 450 gr X bullet from your Lott?

Was there much dark red necrotic tissue around the wound?

Was there a large baseball sized area of torn flesh where the X petals blew off, or did it look more like a diameter sized wound?
