Just curious what some are looking for at SCI 2014?

Haven't heard what is still available for this year since DSC from some of my usual contacts.

Jubilation is in order as my wife said she has had about enough of me since I last went and says I need to go somewhere. Unfortunately, I'm still somewhat grounded as I still will have to see what the banker will allow.

Hope all that are going are looking forward to the show as much as I and you have a safe trip.

Item 1- no more complaints about SCI using "Louie the Leg-breaker" tactics to force exhibitors to donate hunts so SCI attendees can get a "deal" on a hunt that costs the operator a lot and costs the SCI member a little and gives cash to SCI so they can be First for HUnters and give themselves fancy participation trophies for going on hunts.

Item 2- fun discussion on item 1.

Apologies to Bob for my post, but I struggle to refrain when there is such a target rich environment.

Dogcat don't really understand your posts as my comments were just seeing if some others are as enthusiastic as I about what may be available to hunt and their interests.

If I struck some odd cord in you on the fact SCI is involved I apologize to you as I had no intention of hurting anyone.

I am simply excited on going and may be in the position to get signed up for a hunt hope others are as well.

The selfish side of me would like to hunt elephant, likely in Namibia. It's more likely I'll look for a 2015 hunt in RSA that is heavy on good food, includes some battlefield staff rides, and low pressure hunting...maybe a couple days in wine country too. I know I can count on my father to join me, my son's a "maybe" depending on what he's up to between his bachelors degree and working toward his PhD, and if I can swing it I'd like to treat my friend/landowner to a trip too.

The missus will be gambling away our fortune with her sister and mother. Our daughter and her husband are driving over from Irvine on our dime to spend time with us in Vegas.

This'll be my first SCI convention and I'm pretty excited. Hell, I went into to sensory overload at last year's African Sporting Expo in Charlotte, NC.

I realize its pretty selfish to always be thinking "me-me-me" all the time, so this year I am going to take the wife on a trophy fishing trip at a luxury lodge in Costa Rica or Panama!

Then I can hunt again next year.

I don't know if Matt will be there but I would talk to Matt Graham about shooting a couple of those swamp monsters in 2015.

I didn't get our flights booked before the wife figured out that I would be at the show all weekend and probably spend a small fortune, so now I will just save my money and shoot another animal in bots this July.

I'll be finishing up details for my return to Mozambique for another 30 days this year, working details on an Alaska/Yukon Moose hunt and helping out in a friends booth every now and then.

I will also be watching Matt Graham to see if he eats anymore of those ice cream whatevers he was consuming at DSC. Eeker

Up until last week I was planning to look at Argentina for some big game. But, now my uncle decided he wants to hunt ibex. So Argentina is on the back burner and we will be searching for a Mid-Asian Ibex.

You indeed did offer to share and I appreciate that. But it just looked so weird, so had to pass. Maybe next time? Smiler See you in Vegas.
