AfricanHunterFinn Aagaard Memories
In cleaning the garage today I came accross the Dec. '83 American Rifleman. It has an article titled :Kenya Guns and Days". If you can find it, it's worth a read. If I knew how to post it I would do so. I can scan and make attachements to e-mails and that's about it!
The 10.75x 68 mm comes in for some hammering and PH Jens Hessel is involved with some old defective .500/.450 Nitro ammo. I kinda of knew Jens through the late Robt. E. Brown with whom I made some trips. Never hunted with Jens however.
I know Finn's name comes up from time to time as a good writer mentioned here on AR.

Savage99Of the modern writers Finn and Wm. C Davis are my favorites. Aaguards story of hunting lions at night with his new 375 is the best.
You can email the pics to me and I will try to post them.

AnotherAZWriterI was reading some Gene Hill stuff tonight while eating dinner and while the guy didn't write about Africa, he had a style and a charm all of his own. His writing was excellent.
Seems a lot of really good writers are no longer with us.
