Here is a better video. It doesn't look like Mike Jines, but who knows.

Obviously, 500 NE's should be outlawed. Too much gun!!

I can understand how you might think a perfect one shot frontal brain shot would be me ( Wink), but to be honest this year will be my first year to hunt with a Kevlar vest. GQ reports that hunting in Kevlar with a sleeveless shirt is The Bomb this year.

Is the Kevlar vest to protect against a nervous game scout? Is a Kevlar vest effective against tusks?

All I know is that guy just about knocked that elephant off its feet. The BIG gun for sure.

WOW!

That's a great example of a very effective caliber used well. Jumbo bit the dirt right quick!

Gee, I thought they always fell down like that based on my experience. Big Grin

Notice that the first shot knocked it down but the second shot actually killed it.

Will looks like you will have to re-evaluate your position and the 416 and upgrade to a 500 nitro or 500 Jeffery... Eeker

That video is me in 2006 in NW Zim.
I love my 500 Searcy double,it has done Yoeman's service from the Australian Northern Territory to Southern Africa. Please re-watch the video and note how little these full powered loads recoil. The comment about the second shot killing the elephant after the first knocked it down is very true. That is why I love my 500,it will knock them down. Please let us not engage in Onanism and pretend that a 375 would do the same.If elephant is the game ,one of the various 500's have no match.
The vest is my clay target gear-works well with shot gun and double rifle alike.

Australia
I love a sunburnt country,
A land of sweeping plains,
Of ragged mountain ranges,
Of drought and flooding rains.
I love her far horizons,
I love her jewel-sea,
Her beauty and her terror
The wide brown land for me!

Hey, good stuff. At least we weren't bad-mouthing you, your gun, or shot.

But now that we know it's you, all bets are off. Smiler
