Gemsbok kill

Except in this case the gemsbok did the killing.
My Cop friend E-mailed me today. He'd just returned from a farm near Etosha. The farm had a permit to live catch a number of gemsbok. One of the blacks working on the capture wasnt quick enough and was skewered by an angry oryx.

During a game capture, we would toss penny size stones at the Gemsboks and the would hit them in the air with the tips of their horns and send the stones flying, thats pretty accurate and I know they will get you if you carelessly approach from the front.

I saw a Gemsbok bull with a half rotted dead Civit cat impaled on its horns and the cats ribs had a very tight clasp on the horn...

I once saw a captive Gemsbok run his horns thru a sheet of 1/2inch plywood that was lining the holding pen. He was surely pissed and he ran his horns thru the plywood several times.
