Two gored to death by wild animals by Happy Lazaro From The Arusha Times August 29, 2009 A resident of Engikaret village in Ngarenanyuki ward, Kapurwa Lonyaki (55) was last week gored to death by an elephant. Lonyaki met the beast as he was going to a stream for a bath on August 23 at 8 am in Uwiro village. Regional Police Commander Basili Matei said Lonyaki had walked to the neighbouring village to have an early morning bath in the stream which provides water for domestic and agricultural purposes. The remains of the late Lonyaki were taken to West Meru hospital mortuary. to await burial arrangements. Meanwhile, Israel Laway (45) a resident of Endashang’wet has also been torn apart by a buffalo. Laway met his fate also on August 23 at 1 pm while he was grazing cattle on the borders of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. His remains were taken to Karatu Lutheran hospital mortuary.
