I talked to Pierre van Tonder today and LK one of our AR members just shot a huge elephant with Pierre. Pierre said this is the largest elephant he has shot to date and last year he shot 3 in the 70 plus catagory so were looking forward to Lonnys AR post on this big boy.. Pierre said he figured the elephant had 19 inch bases and so depending on the nerve should go close to 80 lbs. is my guess. At any rate it is an awesome elephant for the Selous.

I will leave the details and posts up to LK on his return.

With tusks that large Ray, he could hand out complimentary ivory toothpicks to all the members on AR jumping
Can't wait for pics, and congrats to him!

Just arrived in Dar from the Selous. On the drive out we saw 2 more shootable bulls and one that was close to what I shot. Sorry but I can't upload Photos yet. Were heading out in the AM to Arusha to con't the second half of the safari.

If you have that much to fight for, then you should be fighting. The sentiment that modern day ordinary Canadians do not need firearms for protection is pleasant but unrealistic. To discourage responsible deserving Canadians from possessing firearms for lawful self-defence and other legitimate purposes is to risk sacrificing them at the altar of political correctness."
