John Wood from Houston got this impressive 33" Waterbuck hunting with Bahati a few weeks ago.

There are loads of good Waterbuck in the area. On a lucky day, you may see a hundred bulls of which about 40 make book - at the same time!

Congratulations to the hunter!

One hell of a waterbuck! One of my favorite animals.

Wow... that is an impressive trophy! Waterbuck are an underrated trophy IMO and great fun to hunt. I can't imagine seeing 40 bulls in a day much less one hundred!

I've always been impressed by waterbuck and it was the first trophy I took in Africa. The one pictured is simply great.

It says a lot about an area when Johan didn't bother to post the "little" thirty incher I shot or the 29-ish one my other client, Jeff Hilliard took. We saw several herds in the day we spent in the waterbuck area with 3-4 bulls over 28 in each herd.

Coutada 10 is known as a great dangerous game area, but it has world-class waterbuck, suni, red duiker, reedbuck, hippo, and croc, too. I can't wait to go back.

I don't know what's more scarce a 32+ Waterbuck or a 60+ Kudu. I suspect the former.

Heck of a Waterbuck no doubt!

Greg,

My apologies! Here are all three ... 29", 33" and 30" - three prime Waterbuck bulls. Interesting is that these were the product of one outing.

Very Nice. I too took a 30" Waterbuck this year as well. I had another Waterbuck already, but couldn't pass this one up this year. It's a great trophy animal, and looks very nice shoulder mounted.

Johan,

At the rate youre going with the suni, and waterbuck SCI and Roland Ward will really have to reconsider to put up their minimums. Good going thumb

I always try to use enough gun but then sometimes a brainshot works just as good.

I LOVE waterbuck! I guess coming from a western USA region I relate waterbuck with elk...a regal trophy that is just special. I would love to have any of the animals posted mounted on my wall. Great trophies!
